Title: Support to create a single career webpage to help CSUN recent graduates


1.WHEREAS: The Associated Students, Inc. (AS) is the official voice of over 38,000 students at California State University Northridge; AND

2. WHEREAS: AS is the primary advocate for students at CSUN and provides excellent, meaningful programs and services designed to create and enhance a spirited, learning focused campus environment; AND

3. WHEREAS: AS is always trying to get more students involved and increase student participation within the many programs and services we offer; AND

4. WHEREAS: The Career Center, the Learning Resource Center, and the CSUN Alumni Association have many resources available to graduating students, and want to actively make students more aware of these resources; AND

5. WHEREAS: The Career Center, the Learning Resource Center, and the CSUN Alumni Association provide viable resources to students after graduation including but not limited to programs like Dinner with Matadors, Corporate Connect, open houses, resume reviews, and more; AND

6. WHEREAS: The Career Center, the Learning Resource Center, and the CSUN Alumni Association allow their services for free up to a year after a student’s graduation with no membership required, and these services directly contribute to student success rates after college; AND

7. WHEREAS: Studies have shown that students around campus are not aware of these resources provided by the different departments on campus to help them succeed in their career after CSUN; AND

8. WHEREAS: That the AS wholeheartedly supports recent graduates and wishes to provide them easier access to resources; THEREFORE LET IT BE FURTHER

1. RESOLVED: AS supports putting all resources from the Career Center, the Learning Resource Center, and the CSUN Alumni Association regarding exit counselling and support events for recent graduates under one web page in the CSUN website to allow easier access to students trying to find these resources; AND LET IT BE FURTHER

2. RESOLVED: AS highly suggests creating and adding a single web page full of resources from the Career Center, the Learning Resource Center, and the CSUN Alumni Association to the CSUN IT Department to be done promptly to address the needs of the students on campus; AND LET IT BE FURTHER

3. RESOLVED: That the university as well as AS will continue to find more ways to support its recent graduates and make resources more accessible to them; AND LET IT BE FURTHER

4. RESOLVED: That the university allocates the appropriate resources for recent graduates to help them succeed in their future endeavors beyond CSUN; AND LET IT BE FURTHER

5. RESOLVED: That copies of this resolution be distributed widely, including but not limited to the following:
