Title: Tradition of the Rose
1. WHEREAS: The Associated Students, Inc. (AS) is the official voice of over 38,000 students at California State University Northridge; AND
2. WHEREAS: AS is the primary advocate for students at CSUN and provides excellent, meaningful programs and services designed to create and enhance a spirited, learning focused campus environment; AND
3. WHEREAS: AS is always trying to get more students involved and increase student participation within the many programs and services we offer; AND
4. WHEREAS: The tradition of the rose is a powerful ceremony that was created by CSUN students to instill school spirit in the students; AND
5. WHEREAS: The Associated Students Senate conducted a survey to determine student participation in the ceremony. The results showed that 76% of the students surveyed expressed that they would be more likely to participate in the ceremony if roses were sold on campus; THEREFORE LET IT BE
1. RESOLVED: That the TUC sell roses in the Matador Mercados across campus; AND LET IT BE FURTHER
2. RESOLVED: That the max price, based off the median from the results of how much students would be willing to pay, be $2 so students could participate in the rose ceremony; AND LET IT BE FURTHER
3. RESOLVED: That copies of this resolution be distributed widely, including but not limited to the following:
