Title: Endorse SB-320 Abortion by Medication Techniques

1. WHEREAS: The Associated Students, Inc. (AS) is the official voice of over 38,000 students at California State University Northridge; AND

2. WHEREAS: AS is the primary advocate for students at CSUN and provides excellent, meaningful programs and services designed to create and enhance a spirited, learning focused campus environment; AND

3. WHEREAS: AS is always trying to get more students involved and increase student participation within the many programs and services we offer; AND

4. WHEREAS: The CSUN Klotz Center helps students achieve their maximum potential of physical and emotional health and learn critical skills to promote selfcare, improvement of health and prevention of disease, thereby improving their potential for student academic success and achievement of educational goals; AND

5. WHEREAS: The Klotz Student Health Center providers include specialists in women’s and men’s health; AND

6. WHEREAS: CSUN recognizes that unplanned pregnancies can lead to increased drop out rates for female students in the university system; THEREFORE LET IT BE

1. RESOLVED: That the Associated Students supports SB-320, and the provisions made to require public university student health centers (SHC) to offer abortion by medication techniques; AND LET IT BE FURTHER

2. RESOLVED: That the Associated Students strongly supports the provision of SB-320 that requires the Commission on the Status of Women and Girls to administer the College Student Health Center Sexual and Reproductive Health Preparation Fund, which will provide private moneys in the form of grants to on-campus SHCs at public colleges and universities for medication abortion readiness; AND LET IT BE FINALLY

3.
